I want to become a psychologist but im not sure if it is the right thing to be studying, does anyone know the average annual compensate for a psychologist?( And yes i do know that i should do what i like not what make the most)Psychologist?
It depends what kind of psychologist you plan to be. Just over 1/2 of adjectives psychologists are clinical psychologists, working with mentally under the weather clients or doing counselling/therapy. The rest work as school psychologists, Industrial/organizational psychologists, social psychologists (doing, for example, jury screening and trial prep), ergonomic psychologists, educational psychologists, and so on. The salary will vary greatly depending on the temperament of the work you do and the location (state) you do it in.
BTW, do NOT believe the first answer. First of adjectives, psychologists can NOT prescribe meds. That requires an MD -- usually a psychiatrist. Clinical psychologists do NOT attend med school.
average psychologist may earn $100 dollars a session or more. if he prescribes meds it is within the range of $275 and up for one session. an average doctor earn $20 to $40 dollars and up, if he/she is really @ the top of their profession. good luck to you.
Psychologists do not earn $100 or more per session. They may charge that much per session, but once they compensate their overhead, things like insurance, organization staff, supplies, and everything else that goes into running an department, it's a lot smaller number. And there isn't an insurance company within the world that will even pay the full $100. And closely of patients won't pay you the full amount, or any amount for that concern. That does not mean they don't clear a decent living, but you aren't going to bring rich!
